At a glance
Distributed process monitoring can support operational decisions while limiting exposure of sensitive transaction content.
I was second author of this work, presented at ICCST 2015. It addresses operational support for processes distributed across heterogeneous organisations, where real-time validation must coexist with security and confidentiality requirements.
The approach aggregates and analyses process logs to check whether activity follows agreed rules. Monitoring uses the information needed to validate interactions while protecting sensitive transaction content. Collaborating organisations can thereby share a view of compliance while retaining control of their systems.
The reported application handled more than 400,000 process executions daily. The abstract reports 90% fewer helpdesk calls and a 15% reduction in call duration. These operational results are specific to the reported setting.
The conference year is 2015; the university repository records publication in 2016. Two repository entries share one DOI and describe the same paper.
